Generalities

All published daycare facilities (nursery, playgroup, nanny, after school care,...)* on Kitaclub.ch can be publicly reviewed by parents or family members. The primary purpose of the review-tool is to support other parents in finding the right care facility for their child. These reviews provide a possibility for the parents to express their opinion about the nursery. For nurseries, such reviews by parents are very important and precious feedbacks, and allow them to show their strength but also to improve their service.

Each review will be checked and, if needed, moderated by Kitaclub before publishing. Each time a nursery receives a new review, they will be informed by Kitaclub. Nurseries with a Kitaclub-Plus or Pro subscription are able to reply to a review before its publication. This reply will also be checked and if needed moderated, and then published.

The identity of the evaluators is known to Kitaclub, but the reviews are published anonymously (with pseudo/alias). The personal details are not communicated to the nursery.

* To simplify the spelling, the word 'nursery' is used in this document for all types of daycare facilities.

Who can give a review:

In order to be able to give a review, a clear relationship with the corresponding nursery must be demonstrated: only those who have or have had a child in a nursery are allowed to review it.

No review is accepted by the following persons:

• Employees of the nursery (current or former)
• People with a professional relationship to the nursery
• Occasional visitors (eg. open day), neighbors, etc.

How it works:

If a person wants to post a review, they must be registered as 'parents' on Kitaclub.ch. The registration is free of charge.

A review can be entered on each nursery profile page. The person must enter their first and last name as well as a pseudo/alias. Only the pseudo/alias is communicated to the nursery and published on Kitaclub.ch

After submitting the form, as a first step the review will be checked by Kitaclub.

If the corresponding nursery has a Kitaclub Plus or Pro subscription, they will be notified of a newly received review and have 7 days to reply.

Kitaclub examines the reply and then publishes the entire review including the nursery’s reply.

If the corresponding nursery has only a Kitaclub Basic subscription or is not a member of Kitaclub, it will also be notified, but the review will be published immediately. However, the nursery has the opportunity to book a Kitaclub Plus or Pro subscription to reply to the reviews afterwards.

Each step is carried out manually and the person and nursery are informed by email accordingly.

Content of the review:

A review consists of a written comment and 10 graded, predefined criteria: overall impression, facilities, cleanliness, opening hours/flexibility, educational concept, care/staff, activities, nutrition, communication/organization, I would recommend it.

Each criterion can be graded between 1 (bad) and 5 (very good). At least 3 criteria must be graded. From these individual grades, the overall grade is calculated and displayed.

The written comment (at least 100 characters) must meet following criteria:

• honest (with opinions)
• accurate (with facts)
• relevant
• informative
• respectful
• not defamatory
• based on own experiences

Kitaclub reserves the right to edit and partially or completely delete comments that violate the above criteria.

Sent reviews will be checked and published as soon as possible. The authors and nurseries will be informed constantly during the process.

The published reviews represent the opinion of their authors. A publication by Kitaclub is no endorsement.

Kitaclub reserves the right to reject reviews without specific justification.
